In terms of his tasks and powers under the GDPR, the Commissioner issues legally-binding decisions following the carrying out of an investigation to establish all the facts of the case and, most importantly, after ensuring that the right to be heard of the parties involved has been guaranteed.

Freedom of Information Decision Notices

Pursuant to article 23 of the Freedom of Information Act, where the Commissioner receives a complaint from an applicant to determine whether the request for information has been dealt with by the public authority in accordance with the requirements of the FOI Act or whether a public authority has acted in compliance with the requirements set out in Part III thereof, an investigation is conducted and a decision notice issued accordingly.
