IDPC signs MOU with the Information Commissioner of the Isle of Man
On 18th September 2025, in the margins of the 2025 Global Privacy Assembly, organised in Seoul by the Personal Protection Commission of the Republic of Korea, the IDPC and the Information Commissioner of the Isle of Man have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their existing relations and to promote exchanges to assist each other in the delivery of their regulatory functions.
The MoU provides a framework for the Commissioners to cooperate in a way that supports their data-driven economies while protecting the fundamental rights of citizens in Malta and the Isle of Man, in accordance with their applicable data protection laws. It also establishes mechanisms for regular communication on matters of mutual interest, share knowledge and consult each other on issues that have a significant implication on both offices, and cooperate with respect to the enforcement of their respective applicable data protection laws. Cooperation Agreement signed between the IDPC and the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines
On 18th October 2023, in the margins of the 45th Global Privacy Assembly held in Bermuda, the IDPC and the Privacy Commissioner of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding, by means of which, both authorities commit themselves to foster collaboration and cooperation between them in the area of the protection of personal data.
The IDPC and the Privacy Commissioner of the Philippines acknowledge the importance of keeping each other informed about their respective regulatory activity in order to better protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Philippines and of Malta and support businesses in compliance with laws protecting personal data. IDPC and the ICO (UK) sign Memorandum of Understanding
During the annual BIIDPA meeting held in Malta between 21–23 June 2023, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Mr Ian Deguara, and the Deputy Commissioner of the UK’s Information Commissioner's Office, Mr Stephen Bonner, formalised a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at reinforcing regulatory collaboration between the two supervisory authorities.
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a structured framework for the systematic exchange of best practices, regulatory intelligence, technical expertise, and operational insights. The agreement is designed to enhance supervisory effectiveness, promote regulatory consistency, and support the robust application and enforcement of data protection and privacy legislation within their respective jurisdictions. Memorandum of Understanding between the IDPC and the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority
On the margins of the 2022 Global Privacy Assembly held in Istanbul, the IDPC and the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation. This collaboration caters for the strengthening of the interest of both parties through the implementation of collaboration mechanisms which will allow for the exchange of best practices and mutual assistance.

Cooperation Agreement between the IDPC and Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Albania
On 12th September 2022, the IDPC and the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner signed a cooperation agreement. The goal of this instrument is primarily that of deepening knowledge and experience in personal data protection. In addition, the agreement aims at strengthening bilateral cooperation as regard to cross-border flows of personal data between Albania and Malta, promoting the exchange of information and best practices and cater for the planning of joint activities to increase privacy awareness.

Cooperation Agreement between the IDPC and the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova
On the 18th November 2021, the IDPC and the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the the Republic of Moldova signed a cooperation agreement to foster closer collaboration. The purpose of the cooperation agreement is to exchange of information on enforcement activities, mutual professional development and training, organisation of study visits and workshops.
